With the beautiful events and developments Infomatix has achieved thus far, people frequently ask who fuels our success. As a result, we have decided to interview Tomer Garzberg, an Active Founding Investor at Infomatix.
Tomer Garzberg is a TED speaker and the founder and CEO of ybot.ai, an AI-powered agentless multilingual contact center. Tomer has a wealth of experience in building technology companies, and he is also a startup and crypto investor who specializes in finding the most promising early-stage projects.
During the interview, Tomer talked about his journey and professional career, how he started working on blockchain, and how he sees the project evolving in the next few years.
What’s your background, and the story behind your work?
I used to work in journalism a long time back but quickly fell in love with technology, so I ended up leaving journalism and started my own digital marketing business. I became very interested in data to provide an edge to strategy and then found AI and immersed myself into it. This is where I got into technology, building teams around me to help develop products and solutions from an ‘edge of possibility’ perspective.
Over time, there were so many opportunities I wanted to participate in but had very little time. To be exposed to as many emerging technology opportunities, I became very interested in investing. This is where my journey of investing and actively advising tech companies started: to blend the edge of possibility with a business mindset and hit the ground running.
I met Nathan a long time ago, and initially, he had this idea for a product called Nosis, which is like a dashboard to collect everything you own and track its value. It sounded exciting and ambitious enough to pique my interest, and we started working together. We realized that delivering on the promise of unique data for Nosis would be complicated to achieve in a centralized way. The mechanics of the blockchain space, however, suited it perfectly. That is where the Infomatix was born.
What do you do at Infomatix?
Product and technology guidance and strat ensuring the CEO’s vision is interpretable by the rest of the team and delivery is on par with public expectations.
What are you currently working on?
Planning product launch and growth strategy.
What do you think the future will look like for Infomatix?
Historically, if you want to get the information Infomatix will yield to Nosis, you have to either know somebody or spend a lot of money. For example, there are platforms available that only very high net worth investors can afford.
Until now, there has never been a way for anybody to access diverse financial data without accessing these costly platforms, and even if you do have access to it, you can’t locate data that aligns itself with niche categories like antique cutlery or artwork, or new trends like Pokémon Cards or Yeezy’s. So the promise of Infomatix is pretty big and solves the problem of widespread accessibility.
When did you start working in the blockchain? What made you get into it?
I first got into crypto in 2017 as a speculative investor in the space and learned a lot over time about the ecosystem. Even though it has evolved significantly since then, if you look at the current market cap of just over $2T, the space is still so early by comparison to other markets. The new blue chips of tomorrow are being born today.
Name another blockchain project you admire & why.
Solana. It solved the scalability problem long before it was necessary. Now that you see increased strains on the Ethereum ecosystem with NFT’s and DeFi, you also see migration into Solana for speed and cost. Solana could very well compete with Ethereum in the future as the chain of choice for retail adoption of blockchain in everyday life.
What or who inspires you? Is there any figure, that has had a major positive influence on you?
I’m inspired by using technology to solve real-world problems, especially experimental technology with no proven mainstream usage.
